Over one third of the world’s wealth is real estate related. That makes real estate and commercial real estate in particular, one of the most interesting, vast and lucrative career fields today. Not everyone has the desire, talent or capabilities to be a surgeon, engineer or scientist and the same is true for commercial real estate but if it’s right for you…the rewards are outstanding!


WHAT DOES COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE ENTAIL?

Most agents perform best by specializing in a particular specialty field. You then become known as the expert in that specialty for the geographic area you serve. What are these specialty areas?
Sales and leasing of development land, office complexes, shopping centers, industrial buildings and other investment properties.


IS COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE MORE DIFFICULT THAN RESIDENTIAL?

No! Commercial real estate is no more difficult to learn and understand then residential and there are many favorable differences.
1. There is actually far less paperwork necessary in the standard commercial transaction then for residential properties.
2. Residential agents must be available when the home selling or buying prospects are most available and that is evenings and weekends. Commercial agents work with business professionals who prefer to conduct business during normal business hours Monday through Friday 8-5.
3. Decisions are made by business professionals using facts and figures and are rarely based on rapidly changing emotional vacillations predominate in the residential industry.

WHAT KIND OF FINANCIAL REWARD CAN BE ACHIEVED?

This is a sales industry. Commercial real estate agents are paid based on personal production. The agents that have the necessary attributes, as discussed above, have the highest rate of achievement. $50,000 to $100,000 per year is not unusual for these agents. Some agents in this industry have made $500,000 and more!
